Job Description:

A leading global provider of electronic design solutions is seeking an experienced Principal Design Engineer to join their cutting-edge systems team in Cork.

They are an established force in the development and licensing of high-performance IP used by top-tier semiconductor companies worldwide.

Their technology powers billions of chips each year across a wide range of industries, including automotive, communications, consumer electronics, and industrial applications.
This role is in a high-impact team responsible for creating and validating complex reference systems used in applications such as computer vision, machine learning, radar, and automotive technologies.
As a Principal Design Engineer , you will lead the integration of compute, memory, and interface IP into SoC-level designs.

You’ll also play a key role in showcasing subsystem capabilities, supporting emulation-based product demonstrations, and engaging with internal teams to refine and evolve the IP offerings.
Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Electronic Engineering or a related field
  • Proven experience in 7+ successfully tapeoutsor related field with 8+ years of experience; or Master’s with 4+ years of relevant industry experience.

  • Solid background in one or more of the following: processor architecture, on-chip interconnect, high-speed IO, or chiplet integration.

  • Proficient in Verilog/SystemVerilog and UVM methodology.

  • Skilled in RTL design, synthesis, timing analysis, and simulation.

  • Experienced with industry-standard EDA tools (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys).

  • Hands-on experience with FPGA-based prototyping and emulation platforms.
